Re: Identify my visor
I have a 54' Belair 2 door hard top that I've had for 18 years and have been around old Chevies for 35 years, I'm pretty sure without looking at the bottom that you have a factory correct 54'(or 55' 1st series) Chevy truck visor for your truck. (hard to find)

Re: Identify my visor
Thanks for your comment. Since I posted this question, I have done more research myself and have found that this factory visor came for both the chevy cars and trucks. The way I understand it, the difference is the mounts on each end of the visor. The truck mount basically has 4 holes and the car mount has 3. I found pictures and if I can remember where they are, I will post them. Clay

Re: Identify my visor
The first picture is for the car - second the truck. Note there is no screw in the center of the bracket on the first picture.

Re: Identify my visor
Yeah, the center hole in the side mounting bracket was my first clue. That visor is a beauty, my uncle has been looking for a visor like that for a long time.

Re: Identify my visor
It appears you have an original 54-55 1st Visor made by Guide!
Check this site on page 2 about half way down. The side brackets look the same, it has the front chrome piece. http://53truck.ez15loan.com/howto/accessories02.htm 1954 - 1955 1st Outside Sun Visor Years Available: 1954 - 1955 1st Part Number: 986936 Manufacture: Guide At the bottom of this page http://www.bigjims.net/visors.htm there's a reference to a replacement centre bracket that looks just like the one in your picture. Hope this helps! |
