Help needed with parking brake problem on my 72
The pedal will not set on my 72 when I push it down. If I push in on the
release handle while I push the peddle down the teeth will catch and hold. Is there a spring or something that is broke or missing? Thanks! Bob |

There is a spring on the back side of course. Can't find it in the parts manual right now, but then I'm tired.

spray the heck out of it with WD40 to clear out the 40years of dust and grime then work it to free up those moving parts after that spray it with some white lubriplate to keep it lubricated redo every 10years or so

The spring was missing. Put in a replacement, lubed the moving
parts and all is good! Thanks for the help fellas! Bob |

I see you found your fix, that's great!
I had this problem as well, and for what it's worth, I had an old throttle return spring that worked perfectly. |
