Gages,lead to?
84 c10, took gages out and painted inside housing,reasembled and forgot were lead goes,white plug, looks like maybe optic or ground? Goes toward heater controls

Sounds like the fiber optic to the ashtray.
The end with the rectangular clip goes to the ashtray; the bulb end goes in the upper RH corner of the cluster (when viewed from the driving position. K
