someone wrote the other day about the dash cluster in classic trucks. i was reading my aug 2003 super chevy and on page 27 was a ad for that cluster. the complete cluster in carbon fiber is 699.95 from a place called covans classic www.covansclassic.com

.......but I wish it looked closer to stock. No Limit has a billet aluminum dash insert with gauges for $605. I'm still looking for the right one.

We will be coming out with one this winter. It will replace your entire dash. The dash and glove box door will still have the rounded edges & will be like the original shape. This part of dashes and glove boxes can be painted whatever color you like. The centers will be different. We are going to have a brushed billet aluminum center with no screws, a carbon fiber insert, and a s.s. insert. These will have the guages placed similar to the no limit dashes. The bonus will be to have a matching glove box door.
If everything goes well, they will be here sometime in late winter.

Why don't you just market something similar to what Mudder made? Stock bezel fitted with aftermarket gauges AND an easy to connect harness? Why make things tougher than they have to be? Thanks for the info, Scott

Once we get all the kinks worked out, we will be able to scribe any design on your billet insert! Mine will have tribal flames on it with the Autometer ultralites gauges with blue back lights. Cant wait to get it installed in my 67!

This is real carbon fiber, not some plastic that looks like carbon. They also have nice wood and synthetic wood inserts also. These are used with your origional cluster and glove box doors and keep the origional look. Plastic molded look really pulls a large vacuum~!

Lots of folks make dash cover-ups. You're missing the point. If I wanted stock gauges, I'd keep what I have. The driving point for me is having a real set of gauges, not just operating ranges. That's just what I'm after, I'm sure the carbon fiber looks good (along with the wood and stainless and aluminum), but I want improved gauges.

The dashes we sell will have AFTERMARKET gauges not factory gauges. You will have your choice of VDO and any Autometer gauges we carry as well as an "empty" dash for all the DIY guys. We are also moving the bottom four gauges from their original factory locations. The reason we are giving you a new outside edge on the dash is becuase most of the dashes I have seen around here that are 30+ years old have cracks in them. Our dashes will not be just an insert panel. It is a completely new dash with a built-in insert of your choice. If you want a custom made one with your truck's name scribed in it , we will be able to do it.

BTW guys the covans classic dashes are "only" $109 if you get the ones with out the gauges.

Church, My comment about cover-ups was not directed at you, sorry about the confusion. I was responding to brewski. I get what you're doing, but I don't want to replace my entire dash - I just fixed it. I 'll soon be buying a dash bezel and some gauges and doing what Mudder did, I guess. My wallet is kinda flat after buying a new 350 and T5 tranny (and installing them). I'll be sure to check out your site as I continue work on my truck. I will be needing gray carpets........

The catalog I have shows a price tag of 589.00
Add 80.00 for memory recall tach
billet dash panel only 169.00
A friend of mine installed one of these in his truck. He said he had to cut the metal tabs off at the top of the dash to get the panel to fit right. I looked so good!!

Covan's carbon fiber piece gets

from Ebert and Roeper.

The No Limit piece is... well... so-so. It seems to just be "let's throw some billet on the dash" styling.

There's a company in Alcoa ,Tn that make carbon fiber dash clusters and i think the price was around $120.00. i'm trying to find the name of the company they have an AD in Truckn' or it use to. when i find it i'll post it.
