Replacement mirrors
Does any of the vendors sell the steel bolt that attaches the mirror to the arm? See how it is all rusty, the rest of the mirror is fine. Don't want to replace the whole mirror if I don't need to.
And yes I know I have some un-invited passengers on my truck.

Re: Replacement mirrors
I'm pretty sure that the head of the rusty bolt is captured inside the head of the mirror during factory assembly of the mirror head itself - i.e. no way to just remove/replace the bolt (unless you can figure out how to get the mirror out of the front!). Complete replacement mirror head (5" round) is $9.95 from LMC - and other vendors have them also.
Since I said I'm PRETTY sure... might want to call and talk to a rep to make sure the above is correct (rather than ordering online). Ask if there's a way to just sell the bolt and remove/install it and if they sell only the bolt. I believe the answer is no (to both questions). If you choose to buy the replacement head - ask them to confirm it includes the captured bolt - I believe it should/must. LMC: 800-LMC-TRUCK Chrome 5" mirror head is part # 38-5840, $9.95 in my catalog. Again, not pushing LMC, plenty of other vendors out there and I just had their catalog handy. |

Re: Replacement mirrors
You might be able to clean that up with some Evaporust. I don't know if it's cheaper than a new mirror or not, but if you have other rusty stuff you'll get your money's worth. They sell it at Autozone or Oreilly and it works like a charm!

Re: Replacement mirrors
Yeah, I called LMC before posting here, they didn't know if the mirror head came with that bolt. So it sounds like it does, correct?
