column shifter
I have began to restore an auto steering column. As original, Is there supposed to be a rubber grommet/boot that fits around the raised area on the column where the shifter attaches? I have looked at many pictures and cannot tell if this area was painted black or had a grommet/boot and I also have not been able to locate this part for sale anywhere.

had a grommet, but im not sure if they are repopped. you may be able to use a different year or, the Impala and such columns were very close to the truck columns, maybe those would work if they are repopped.

FYI: I knew the Biscaynne and the El Camino had the exact same steering wheel as the deluxe 64-65 C-10. I did a little research and found out the 59-60 El Camino used a very similar column and still sales the column shifter boot for $5.99. Part #02-1970 (got mine today perfect fit)
