left over 56 3100 parts value?

I have the Porterbuilt subframe coming soon and that means a bunch of left over front suspension parts that are in good shape. My question is if there is anyone who wants these parts for free to include wheels, hub assembly, steering assembly (automatic), straight axle, under cab brake booster assembly etc or should I scrap them? These items are in good condition.

I will be running all C10 gear with the new set up and my garage is at max capacity. I will also have the rear suspension parts up for grabs too. All Free to any member doing a stock resto.

Also, is my stock rear end worth anything other than a trip to the salvage yard?

Thanks Sledge

When you say steering assembly automatic? If you are referring to a steering column "hydra-matic" shifter those are pretty rare, I would Ebay it. Craigslist the rest those retro-gasser guys like the straight axles.

Not to mention Sid's charges a $50 core charge for a dropped axle if you don't have yours when he makes one for you. I'd think they WOULD have value. Don't trash them.

Thump if you have the 1956 chevrolet hydramatic fender emblems those are worth big bucks don't throw them away! I have a cherry set on mine that a buddy had in his garage that he sold me for a 100 bucks. I saw a pitted set sell on ebay recently for 400 bucks.

I have the fender emblems as well. I guess I will just store the stuff for horse trading later.

Is that under cab brake booster part of a new kit or an original style Hydrovac?

That sounds like some good pieces if someone in that area is trying to rebuild a similar truck to stock/original. I like your pay it forward plan too rather than asking top dollar for stuff you want to get rid of because it will take up too much space.

Re: left over 56 3100 parts value?

i am assuming the original brake set up and yes I like to pay it forward so i dont have extra parts cluttering up my work space. It was mainly for the purists on the board who love original stuff and the guys on a tight budget. The PB subframe blew my budget for the yr. lol. My cab is almost off as soon as I figure out how to disconnect column from gear box. I know...search is my friend. lol My goal is to have my frame stripped down because my bags and step notch arrive tomorrow. So I dont plan on keeping the six lug wheels, hubs etc but I really cant see it being junked. It took me this long to take the truck apart and I have had it since march.

I can vouch for Thump's pay it forward mindset!

And I believe the steering column and box come out as one unit.

I believe column and gear box are one piece.
