I'm in the Club now!!
Hi all.
New to site, finally have a reason to post something. My new 67 long bed, all original, 327 4bbl. second owner, was used as a work truck at "Naval Air Weapons Station in China Lake" so never saw much road time. Was purchased at Government auction in 1978 and was driven for 2 years and put into storage from 1980 till 2012. Now my turn. I'll be updating my progress as I go with this restoration. Going to take my time with it and have some fun. I also own a 67 Camaro RS, all original. But that project is done. Look forward to posting and getting some of your thoughts soon. P.s. Yes i know its lowered. The previous owner asked a relative to lower the truck for sale purposes. Thought it would appeal to people more. I like the lowered look, just not the way he did it. Going to keep it lowered, but going to handle it a different way. |

Re: I'm in the Club now!!
I have several people telling me to leave the paint alone. HAHA
Its a hard choice. If I leave it the "Patina look", do I just clear coat the truck to preserve the whats done? or no clear coat? I was thinking Silver, maybe off white, or a darker Blue. I kinda dig the color of this C10. |

Re: I'm in the Club now!!
I like it the way it is, but you gotta do what you like. I know some people that love "patina" (kind of a sissy sounding word to describe a hot rod), but covering it up has made lots of people a livin' for a long time.

Re: I'm in the Club now!!
I'd leave it for now and when patina goes out of style then you can go with a nice silver or blue. Don't make extra work for yourself yet

Nice lookin ride if you need space to work on it you can put that Camaro in my garage, don't forget to leave the keys I would want to take it out so your battery does not go dead

Re: I'm in the Club now!!
Love the truck. Never understood why people want their trucks to rot. Yours still looks great but sand that rust down. I am in same situation with my 67 c10 lwb. It has rust all over. But I will get to it once its on the road.

All good thoughts, although I think TINKERMC, might have a 10851 on his record. LOL
I'll keep you all posted. For starters going to drain fluids and fix the muffler, its hanging on by 1 bolt. |
