Re: ls swaps in 1947-53 trucks

I think they are swapping in an S10 chassis and swapping an LSx in for power.

GMPP took an AD Suburban and set its body on a TrailBlazer SS chassis. The reward?
LS2 motor, 4L70e trans, 9.5" 14 bolt 4.10 posi rear, 4 wheel discs, automatic ride height rear air bag sysytem, big sway bars front and rear...for one "capable" AD Suburban!

I went yesterday but he had that part of the shop locked up. I caught him in the middle of dinner and didn't want to hold him up too long. I will be back over there later this week putting my motor in and I will get the pics then.

Re: ls swaps in 1947-53 trucks

I have a 5.3 w/a 5speed, in my 55 1st series, i did just an s10 clip because its a long bed truck, but there is a couple of guys here that have them in the 47-55 style truck, but most of them for sure have a different front clip or s10 frame, i dont think i have seen any yet with the stock front straight axle with a ls yet, dont know which way your going but it can be done, mine has been on the road for about 2800 miles now and its a blast, here is a couple not so great pics of it

Nice yours is looking good, I don't think you'll have any problems with the inner fenders, but depending on what transmission your running and which motor mounts your using you might need a little more clearance with your trans tunnel.
