Automatic brake pedal, is there a difference?

I recently ordered a complete power brake set up from a member and it came complete with the bracket under the dash and what was described as a rare automatic only brake pedal assy. I am not saying it was falsely advertised, I just cant see a difference between my 4 speed brake pedal and the automatic one. I of course removed the clutch pedal years ago when I changed over to an Auto trans but my brake pedal is the 4 speed one still.

What am I missing? I want to know before I go to the trouble to change it and there is no difference, or worse throw it away and there is a difference I am just not seeing.

My '66 Suburban is an original auto trans truck, and the brake pedal is the same as what is used in a manual trans truck. At least I have not seen any difference.

The rarity of the auto brake pedal is found in the pedal pad. It is unique, and to my knowledge has never been reproduced. I have only seen two on Ebay, and they both sold for well over $100. Without the pad, the pedal is nothing special. Here’s what an NOS pad looks like:

So the rarity is in the power brake pad , nothing to do with the automatic

My apologies - my previous post was incorrect. The rare pedal pad isn't unique to automatic transmissions, it is unique to factory power brakes. To the best of my knowledge the auto trans equipped trucks received the same standard pedal pad unless equipped with power brakes.

Claiming the pedal assembly as rare is technically correct, the same as stating a 60-66 automatic steering column is rare. Compared to standard transmission trucks very few auto equipped trucks were produced during this period. But in practical terms the only unique part is the pivot pin. Not too many hot rodders would care about the pin, but to a purist it might have some value by not showing the remains of where the clutch pedal was sawed off.

I wanted a wider pedal for my 65, so got a pedal from a early 80 "square box" Chevy truck and cut off the small pedal and welded on the wider one.

I have both and will have to look to verify but wouldn't the hole for the push rod be in a lower spot on the pedal arm for the power brakes? I also think there was no stop for the clutch pedal. I'll look tonight.

Everything is the same because the activation of the power brake booster is done in the same way as activating the brake booster.
