Replacement Floor humps
I have a 2wd cab with A/C and the low hump that is in better shape than the high hump, no A/C I have in this truck. I'd like to swap cabs to get A/C and instead of doing all the rust repair to the 4x4 cab. Is there a company that makes replacement floor humps for 73-87s? I checked Brothers, Classic Industries and LMC but they only have replacement floor pans that don't include the hump.

Not sure what you are looking to do but I switched my truck from High hump(floor shift) to low hump(automatic) My truck had the removeable hump. I cut the hump section out of an automatic truck and marked the holes and from my high hump, drilled it and bolted it in.

Mine is a 77. You should be able to get an earlier removable 4x4 /standard trans hump

I am curious about this swap also, I was thinking of swapping a manual tranny in my 87, but the floor question came up.
Hope someone here has a good answer to this problem, I did not want to do a cab swap either. Desert |

I actually just did this not too long ago. I replaced the cab on my 4x4 frame with a 2wd automatic cab. I had a removable hump in my old cab and the transfer case hump is spot welded in. I drilled the welds and removed that too. The 2wd cab floor had the seams where the hump would be so I just followed them with my die grinder. I welded in the transfer case hump and I welded square nuts on the bottom of the floor for the tranny hump. It looks factory. I wish I had more pics.

i also just did this. cut out a low hump to weld in a high hump into my 2x4 to fit a t56 . i did mine a little different than the blue truck tho, i had a junk yard cut an oversized panel out of a 4x4 floor, actually he had it laying it around but you get the point, paid $20 for it and cut it down to size following "body lines" if you will. cut the old floor out along the same lines and spot welded the new one in. turned out great ill go get some pics now...

excuse the mess, and the partial completion, the passenger half was taken down with a flap disc on a grinder, if the new hump wierd its starting to get surface rust as the kids have taken priority the last couple weeks. i hope it helps when you get to this point, sorry i dont know of anyone who reproduces them. they are easy to find in a yard tho, as the center doesnt usually rust out and all manuals and 4x4s had them. the later years were not unboltable tho |

Thanks for the pics, they are really helpful.
I was hoping to spend a few bucks to save some time, but it looks like I can't. I looked at the 4x4 cab and it has the bolt in hump. The 2wd doesn't of course but it looks like removing the 4x4 one and using it as a template is the way to go. Thanks again.
