17 inch tire sizes.

Hope this is the right place for this question. I am lowering my 72 lwb 3.5" in the front and 5" in the rear. I have 17 x 8 rims for the front and 17 x 9.5 for the back. Looking for some tire suggestions and if possible pics.

Thanks
Kevin

Re: 17 inch tire sizes.

I had a 90 GMC RCSB I built years ago, I had 17s on it as well. Back then there wasn't too many trucks around with "big" rims. I had Centerline Galaxy, 8s up front and 9.5s in the back. IIRC, I had 255/55 up front and 275/55 out back. The front where a little smaller than what I wanted, but couldn't find anything else at the time. The rear where perfect. Nice and wide, and I think was the same height as stock. Was lowered, 3" front and 5" rear. No pics, that was over 10 years ago....

Check out tirerack.com - they'll have specs on just about every size out there.

Yes but I was hoping for some pics of trucks so I could see stance and look.

Thanks

Re: 17 inch tire sizes.

I run all 17x8 with 255/50/17 would have like to run the 55 series but the tires are 500.00 plus a piece on tire rack.

Re: 17 inch tire sizes.

Mines not a long bed, but this should give you an idea. I'm running 255/50/17 front and 275/55/17 rear tires. Hankook discontinued the rear sizes just after I got mine.

Another option is Nitto NT450's in 255/50/17-275/50/17 combo.

Did a search for see ten. His truck has this tire combo. There are others, as well, but see ten used to post ALOT of pics of his truck.

I went with 245/70/17 all the way around with a 5.5 drop in front and 4 in back.

Re: 17 inch tire sizes.

Nitto makes a nice tire in 255/50 and 275/50, the NT450, here's a link....
