Non tilt to tilt question

My non tilt has what appears to be a shift detent built on, into the lower shaft, first picture. My tilt does not, second picture. I assume being tilt, the shift detent is accomplished else where? Shop manual not detailed enough. Hope I did not buy the wrong tilt?

Bed is in primer and being blocked. The cab and front clip are stripped, waiting for primer and blocking. It looks like mid-October before it will be complete. In the mean time I have been gathering up small stuff I need to put it all back together when it comes home. Looks like you are just about done putting yours back together...I'll bet you can't wait to drive it!

I think I bought a "real" restored truck tilt, at least that's what I paid big $$$ for.

Have been wondering the same thing on mine.I, too, thought I had been rooked.
Does the shifter work the same?
