Big window cab

I came across a big window truck along with the frame and front clip what is it worth? No title is the only issue. Which is fine i have a good title on my 65 that i already have. Any input on this.

Re: Big window cab

Well, the answer is really up to you, what is it worth to you? Theres so many variables, rust, dents, damage, etc... Post some pics and I can only tell you what I would pay

Re: Big window cab

Check your local laws on the cab w/no title. There is a vin on the cab. If its not able to be used, its only worth parts. If its able to be used and rust free its worth a lil more. Maybe some pics?

Re: Big window cab

Cab and body look solid from here. I would personally have a problem with more than 1,200... That's because I have a truck now with some rust issues that I would love to get a new cab for. Thats just me though!

Re: Big window cab

Sheet metal looks to be in good condition. Have you gone underneath the truck to look at cab supports, cab corners and inner rockers? These are some of the typical areas to look for. The brow over the glass and pillers are other areas to check for rust. If its all in decent shape...I'd say a couple hundred bucks. Doors...are they complete? Check bottom for rust areas and extreme left/right corners. The trim on the windshield is a plus also. Do you plan on installing the side trim? If not, factor in time to fill all the holes also.

Re: Big window cab

Im looking at strictly parts, its 90 miles away from me, but it looks better than the cab i currently have which has drip issues as well as normal dents and dings these old trucks have from life of labor. It has good fenders too that come with it. Thanks for the input

Re: Big window cab

Kind of see the difference in price though? I was at a grand assuming zero rust, someone else at a few hundred, so its all dependent.

Re: Big window cab

The wide glass is not as common as the small window. So if you can do some checking on the vin. It looks to be in good shape. Will they sell the cab with doors only?

Re: Big window cab

If it was just the big window cab and doors average would be 500 dollars here in Arizona.

Re: Big window cab

I wouldn't pay more than $500.00 without a title. If you could find the person who the truck was last titled to, they can file for a lost title and transfer it to you all at once. At least that can be done here in Idaho.

Re: Big window cab

Not saying that I have not saying that I haven't but why are so many people afraid to swap vin numbers from one cab to another? I understand the legalities of it but who would ever know?

Re: Big window cab

I know I talked to a few people when a had my gto and they know ppl who bought totaled gto front fire walls to convert the lemans and tempest into gtos. So needless to say when to local wrecking yard here smashed all 4 of the nice gtos it had here SOME ONE snagged all the vin tags from the car becouse the junk yard never turned titles in lol
