Donor serpentine setup?

What would be a Good vehicle to be a donor for a serpentine belt setup for my 70-72 chevy 350? I don't even know if this is doable but I thought hey, a 350 Is a 350.

The s-10 v-6 4.3 is a good choice to.
Just remember you have to get a reversable water pump for it.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Mine's from a '90 Camero. Bolted right up with only one add'l bolt hole to tap into the pass side head. Also, an exact fit for the Vintage Air A/C compressor.

88-95 CK chevy trucks w/sbc or 4.3 V6, 96-98 also works vortec 350. of course the same for gen1 sbc Camaro like magwak..., firebird, caprice, buick roadmaster. lots of cheap junk yard options. Here is a pic (borrowed from "lake anna") of the 88-98 CK trucks setup, same for 305, 350, 4.3v6 88-95.

Re: Donor serpentine setup?

My serp set up is from a 4.3 v6. Do remember to get the waterpump and the alternator.

Re: Donor serpentine setup?

Man, I had no idea there were so many options! My heads don't have any threaded holes in them for mounting. Is this going to be a problem?

Re: Donor serpentine setup?

yes that will be problematic. I too have several sets of the serp setups to use but my 327 has no head bolt holes[in the right places of course you jokers] Also the info is not quite all fact . the 88 and part of 89 bracket will work for you but is not the same as the pretty alumiun braket that we all come to see as the norm .In 1988 and most of the model year 1989 the General used a one piece steel bracket that had another bracket bolted to it, it is similar to what we use just not as pleasing. I would stick to the 90-95 C-K truck bracketor the S-T brakekt fromthe 4.3 from model year 19881/2 to1995 as well. After 1995 the motor went to what was known as the vortec[not to be confused with the S trucks eariler vortec] and it carried a differentt bracket although it will work as well it moves the a/c compressor to the drivers side and the alt to the pass side. Re: Donor serpentine setup?

Yea you are going to have to find some heads with accessory holes in them, from what i have read there is not enough material in the heads to drill and tap.

Re: Donor serpentine setup?

Hey Hugger, just so I'm clear, the 90-95 bracket will work with my undrilled heads? Or maybe the 88-89? My double hump heads have too much money in them to justify replacing them so If I can't work around this issue I guess I'll have to do without.
