Re: going to pick up a 68 chevy
Well looks a little rough for $1000, is it a long bed or short bed? hard to tell from the pics. We picked up our 67 project for $300 no motor tranny but with all the rust repaired on cab.

Re: going to pick up a 68 chevy
Too much for a driver....better off as a parts truck...as I don't see the front, frame or drivetrain

Re: going to pick up a 68 chevy
As I previously posted. Comes with a 327 and the original tranny which has been rebuilt frame is all done, suspension is all done, brakes are done. No pictures of the frame didn't get a chance to. Here's a question how many guys does it take roughly to lift that cab?

Re: going to pick up a 68 chevy
You can get something running and driving for that price. Even if you decide to rod it. I would pass on it. AND for the LOVE of God minimize the pictures. I have a headache now. haha

Re: going to pick up a 68 chevy
Ya sorry about that usually come out smaller, next time I will try and fix that. And I've seen some for under 1000 sure they run but are in rough shape and usually come with a 6 cyl and I wanted to a ground up anyways this just kinda saves me the taking apart portion of the build. So this lets me learn how to do all the things I want to do and body work shouldn't be much of an issue seeing as I'm a welder. That's really the only thing major I need to do to this truck for it to be on the road.

Re: going to pick up a 68 chevy

Re: going to pick up a 68 chevy
Oh ya it's a truck my automotive teach from highschool was working on and lost interest. And not too great with the body work so title will just be signed over to me.

Re: going to pick up a 68 chevy
Are u sure that's a short bed? The reason I ask is the bed has six stake pockets, short only has four.

Re: going to pick up a 68 chevy
Well, as a fellow Canuck my advice would be to pass on that for $1000...maybe buy it for 'back up/spare' parts for $500.
I would look further south and in a dryer area if I were you....well worth a weekends drive to go retrieve something. Check out a few of these...not too far away: http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/3312462595.html http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/3234027743.html (really like this one) http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/3217628038.html http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/3278257289.html http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/3268297871.html http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/3183992039.html http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/3274789292.html http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/3279977109.html These are a very quick sample but it is waaaaayyyy cheaper to buy them ready to go than to do it yourself and prices are down in my opinion so its a bit of a buyers market. Its never a 'builders market'....unless you've had all the parts and the paint booth for a while. Good Luck, keep us posted. Coley

Re: going to pick up a 68 chevy
I appreciate all the help guys but I'm pretty set on doing a ground up so I can learn all the things I can learn, I'm not worried about resale the plan is to build it, break it then build it better.

Re: going to pick up a 68 chevy
I would make sure it is a shortbed frame because the box is long...
Also, $1000 doesn't go real far any more in this part of the country. See if you can get it for 7-8 hundred and have fun...

Re: going to pick up a 68 chevy
I like your style, and the amount the guy is throwing in is pretty good. It just needs the body work a windshield for purchase items. Later tonight ill post a list of why I get in the deal for 1000

Re: going to pick up a 68 chevy
Welcome to the forum, and I'm from winnipeg myself. Truck seems a bit high in price for 1000 IMHO too but it may have more potential than the pictures show. Good to see a fellow Pegger on here, this site is hands down best there is in reference to classic chevy and gmc trucks. You'll find a ton of info and ideas here. What area of town are you in btw?
