1970 gas pedal swap?
Can you swap a 71 or 72 cable pedal for a mechanical pedal? Is it a striaght bolt up or does it require some work? Thanks Shawn

Yes you can put a 71-72 pedal in a 67-70. You can fab an adapter or buy one for $35 from LFD : LINK
You will have to drill a hole for the cable, and provide your own 71-72 pedal assembly.

If you imagine that adapter turned 90 degrees to the left (counter-clockwise) you can see the LFD in the face of the part. I had to look at it to see what the slots were for. Nice way to ID your piece. Good thinking.

Is this "as delivered" with burred threaded holes like that? As far as hacking their name through it, that is a expensive production step for $35 part that should be about $20.

I would like to convert to a cable but my truck is finished. I would not be able to weld to the firewall. How is everyone converting there gas pedal?

I bought a 72 gas pedal assembly from the forums and then bought an LFD adapter for it. I haven't had the chance to install it yet, however through reading through all the forums, all I need now is a throttle cable. Since I'm swapping out my sbc to a bbc, I'm kind of wanting to wait on ordering the Lokar cable until I know exactly what length I will need.
