73-87 a arms on a 62 cross member

for my 62 we raised the cross member but I still have the torsion bar set up but now I have decided I want to do bags in the front to. So my question is is can I use the 73-87 a arms on my 62 cross member? The reason I want the newer a arms is for the disk breaks and they would be easier to cup for bags. thanks

To my knowledge you can not bolt the '73-'87 control arms onto a '60-'62 crossmeber. This is why most guys switch the complete suspension, crossmember and all on the '60-'62's. About your only option is to purchase the aftermarket dropped spindles designed specifically for converting the '60-'62's to disc brakes.

I don't know exactly what all is different as I have not bought them. But they will be machined with the correct taper to fit your '60-'62 ball joints.

Re: 73-87 a arms on a 62 cross member

Hey guys. Dumb question here but I had taken off my crossmember to drop the trans and I lost all of the bolts. Do you guys know the size of the bolts? I am having one helluva time trying to match up the holes with bolts. I have obviously learned the hard way now to bag and tag everything when I work on it! Thanks
