Front Disc Dust Shield

I have Danna 44 axle with 3.73 gears, the front disc dust shield which also are the brackets that hold the caliper in place. Two wheel drive are easy to find, but the 4 wheel drive I have not been able to find. Mine are rusted out and need to be replaced. Any help in finding me a pair would be appreciated.

Re: Front Disc Dust Shield

Are you talking about the factory 72 style sheetmetal disk brake rotor dust shields? Those just bolt on behind the rotor and don't hold the calipers at all. Very flimsy.

The later style are very heavy gauge (probably 1/4" thick steel) and actually hold the calipers at the same time. I swapped mine over to this style, they are much easier to find and offer more protection for the rotor against rocks and debri. Might be another option for you.

Yes if that is what you have I am interested. The heavier dust shield that holds the calipers sounds like a great upgrade.

Re: Front Disc Dust Shield

I have the factory 71/72 Dana 44 4X4 dust caliper mount/dust shields.. the caliper mount is stamped steel and the dust shield is tin which is spot welded to the caliper mount..
I do not have the later 70's solid stamped steel ones.
I can get pictures tomorrow if you are interested
