Can an A/C Condensor be used as a Trans Cooler
I have upgraded my A/C with a new 134a unit. I was wondering if the old condensor could be used as a trans cooler?

I've heard of that being done before, a cooler is a cooler.

It would be a little bigger than it really has to be. I often figured that you could solder on a fitting in place of an end loop. You really would only need at most a 4 pass cooler for your tranny and then make the next 4 pass for your oil cooler. Even at a 4 pass it is still twice as large as an aftermarket cooler.

my dad taught me this trick way back in the 70's before trans coolers were common. always worked great.
