Anyone know what a '70 Scott-Bilt Crew Cab is worth?

There's a Scott-Bilt crew cab for sale near me and I was wondering what these things are worth. The guy is asking $5000, which seems a little high. I'm not sure how rare these are and what they're worth. Anyone know?

He says it's a '70 C10 1/2 ton, 2wd, 307 cu in, power steering, with 3-speed on column, runs good, with 54,000 miles (sure?)

Re: Anyone know what a '70 Scott-Bilt Crew Cab is worth?

Seems to be about the going price I've seen because they are fairly rare...and becoming more desireable. I'd get one and change the rear doors to square suburban style and improve the looks

If not too rusty I'd think it would be worth it if it's what you're wanting...always can see if they'd take less....and you're well ahead vs building your own crew cab from scratch!

Re: Anyone know what a '70 Scott-Bilt Crew Cab is worth?

There is a whole thread on this specific truck.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=549206

As a C/10 with a 307, 3OTT and manual drum brakes I'd think this was kind of unloved by its owners. The conversion added about a thousand pounds to the trucks weight plus all those people.

The price is subjective, there was a C/20 on the sale boards for a year at a far lower price. Rust was a factor. Look closely.

Have a question. Do you KNOW this to be a Scott-BILT conversion or just refering to the picture? There were other companies doing the same four full doors and completely different style conversions as well.

If you have a picture of a Scott-BILT data plate certifying the conversion I would really like to see it or any Scott Chevrolet emblems.

Re: Anyone know what a '70 Scott-Bilt Crew Cab is worth?

I bid on this truck last year at a local auction, the truck was in very good shape with no rust...had very solid cab mounts and floors, big block, auto and AC. There were only 2 of us bidding and I backed out at 4,500 and let the other guy have it. I know the truck was worth more but I didnt need it and I'm pretty sure the other guy was buying it for his teenage son..they were both really relieved when I backed out.
I looked it over very good and there was no build tag or anything like you would expect on a special truck like this..just the Scott Chevrolet emblems affixed to the rear doors. I even got to talk to the owner that ordered the truck and conversion..it was used to pull there camper and spent most of its life in a pole barn..for years this truck was only a mile from my house and I didnt know it existed till the week of the auction.

That's a wild story Rob... would have been one for the stable for sure.

That first one has had a hard life for sure. 54,000 miles? Surely he is referring to the later model engine. I don't think 307s had egr valves. ?

The 72 crew is my kind of truck. I would have liked to see how high I would have pushed the price up before getting cold feet.

That one vehicle probably caused a shortage on ochre and ugly for a few years. Still, I dig it.

To be totally honest I think they're pretty darn ugly. I might just look at it because it's right here near me. I just thought if it was worth anything I would consider it as a flip truck. From the sounds of what I'm hearing, it's probably not worth it.

definitely not a flip truck at that price! Only worth that kind of money if not rusty and if the person buying plans to use as is or restore it and keep it...
