what transmission do i have? 71 c10 with 250

hey all,

i apologize for the lack of info in this post. i am at work without access to my camera to take a photo so ill describe the trans as best i can.

i bought a 71 c10 to use some of its bits on my 63 c10. ended up keeping the 250 and 4(?) speed trans that came with it. it is a floor shifter.

trying to id what i have. i realize this is awful with no pics but ill describe it: the shift lever mechanism is on the left (drivers side) with a mechanical speedo cable. i was told an sm465 weighs close to 200lbs and this is not nearly that weight - i'd guess 75 or so? i would assume this is the stock trans - based on that assumption esp without pics - does anyone have any suggestions as to what the trans may be? i can google images of them to compare it. i really dont think its an sm465.

sorry for the odd post. just confused right now. i may end up dropping the whole shebang into a 41 chevy coupe but only if the trans is worth it.

Sounds like a Saginaw or Muncie four speed tranny but hard to say without pics.
