1964 C10 SWB fleetside
Hi all,
My name is Tom from Oxford, MI and the truck is named Clyde. It is a 64 SWB fleet-side with a 292 six and 4 speed trans. I bout it in Creswell, OR and it currently resides in Junction City at my girlfriends place. I don't get much time there but when I do, I am working on detailing the engine compartment. It is a slow process but I have found local places that do sandblasting and powder coating. I also found a place called Graffiti Alley which sells reproduction and aftermarket parts. No plans on a frame off but I want to make it a reall nice driver. I will keep the post as updated as possible with new pics on the progress. |

Wow, another clean solid looking truck being built. Is Junction City in Oregon or Michigan?

Re: 1964 C10 SWB fleetside
Junction City is in Oregon. I am from Michigan. It makes it a little difficult to work on it. I do visit there at least once every 2 months and I plan my time well. Currently working on the engine compartment and getting the 292 detailed and looking nice. I will post photos of progress soon.

Re: 1964 C10 SWB fleetside
Welcome to the board! Looks like a nice truck to start with. Seat looks like the original cover, is it in good shape? After the engine bay detailing, what are your plans?

I will add chrome grill and bumpers and redo the wood in the bed for sure. The truck is a really good driver and I want to keep it a non PS, non P/B. Thanks for checking it out |

Re: 1964 C10 SWB fleetside
I thought I would add some engine compartment photos. I am in process of polishing the top radiator tank among other things.

Re: 1964 C10 SWB fleetside
Hello all, thought it was time for a little update and I do mean little. I was in Oregon over the Christmas break and worked on the 64 a little. I have just now had the time to update the thread. I swapped the hood with one that came with the truck. I had a problem with it because it had a dip in the middle but it is nicer as far as rust. I also got new bolts for the radiator support fillers and hood latch. I made new battery cables that I routed so they are hidden as much as possible. I also sprayed some Alpine Green on the block to see color. It may not be 100% exact but it is going to be anything but 100% original. I found the paint in the Napa store in Junction City, OR. I could not believe they had it right there on the shelf. I wish I could have done more. I need to get the engine cleaned and preped more as well as the firewall and drivers side inner fender. It is a slow work in progress but I see a big difference in the way it looked last June.

Re: 1964 C10 SWB fleetside
Thank you for the comments guy's. I have to take this one in baby steps but every time I work on it, it gets better and better. I am praying for 60 + degrees so I can do some more painting. I have a lot of ideas just waiting to be applied.
Stay tuned...... |
