Wiring harness
I put a new American Autowire classic update harness in my 69 and didn't change the turn signal switch out of a donor column I got out of a 72. Plugged it in to the harness and brake lights work but when I hit the brakes the front turn signals in the bumper light up too. Also the arrows for the turn signal arrows light up on the dash. The turn signals do not work, I am thinking a new turn signal switch is in order, but maybe I screwed something up in the wiring. I think the pig tail that the turn signal switch plugs into was alrerady done by the folks from Amer Autowire. It is driving me crazy...pls help

Re: Wiring harness
I suspect that the turn signal harness is mis-wired. Do you have the crescent shaped plug? I don't know what color wires AAW uses in their harness for the plug, but the OEM colors are as you see in the picture in the guys left hand by his thumb.
white- brake lights green- right rear turn signal yellow-left rear turn signal purple-power wire for the TS switch brown-power wire for the hazards dark blue- right front turn light light blue- left front turn light black-horn button Attachment 1024646 If you jump 12 volts to each of the wires in the cab side harness, not the steering column side. You can tell what wire feeds what light. Don't put 12 volts on the black horn wire, just jump it to ground and the horn should blow.
