heater fan squeak/sqeal
Alright my fan in my '66 chevy has an annoying squeak/squeal coming from the blower under the hood is there anyway to fix this simply, maybe blowing lubricant into the air intake would help? are those stock heaters complicated to tear into?

Re: heater fan squeak/sqeal
You need to get some lube on the blower motor bushing/bearings. I have seen people drill a small hole in the blower motor case and use WD-40 to spray through the hole.
Blowing lube through the air intake will not help this. Good Luck. |

Re: heater fan squeak/sqeal
I had the same issue the other day. It was dry bushings in the motor. I took the fan and motor out, removed the fan(it had a ton of crap built up on the blades), oiled the bushings with motor oil, bead blasted the fan and painted, reassembled and installed. It is super quiet now and I'm sure has more flow than before. Real easy job to do...

Re: heater fan squeak/sqeal
Pretty easy to pull out. I took mine out lubricated it cleaned it. It ran real quiet for about 2 weeks. Then I replaced it. For the price I wish I had done that in the first place. The motor is cheap.
