Staying aired up
How long should I expect my truck to stay aired up before finding it back on the ground? 24 hours? Several days?

Re: Staying aired up
Jim, what are your findings? As I mentioned on Fb, mine stays put.
I park outside laid out 99% of the time (when I am out)...but my truck stays garaged 100% of every day if I am not driving her Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Staying aired up
Ahh, I posted this at the same time as on the FB version.
I'm wondering why when Anthony tightened the filter and the 4 screws on the one compressor's top, it stayed aired up a bit longer than an hour or so...a few hours. But we weren't around over the past 3 days of the Christmas holiday to see when it hit the ground. But still, that's only 3 days, and it's not one wheel but the whole truck. Any ideas? |

Re: Staying aired up
I don't have a gauge on the tank, but the whole truck goes down.

Re: Staying aired up
Air had been heard coming out of the filter on one compressor on Saturday.

Re: Staying aired up
yeah, you need a one way valve after your compressor then.

Re: Staying aired up
Keep in mind that on the manifold valve assemblies, the valve itself is held closed by back pressure in the tank. If the pressure in the tank drops below the pressure in the bags, the system will bleed down.
I would heed Broeys advice and make sure the check valve in compressor line is working properly.

Re: Staying aired up
Weeks, maybe months on mine. I always park mine aired up to ride height. If I have a leak I want to know about it before I go out. I have had it parked for over a year now, and it was several weeks before it slowly went down.

Re: Staying aired up
Thanks. I don't have separate check valves after the compressor, only the block of eight valves which I assume have the job of doing just that. Unless the problem is what Nate (or Dave!) is referring to and I need to install check valves.

Quote:
If you have a leak behind the valves (between the manifold and the compressor) the whole system will bleed down. A system with no leaks should hold air indefinitely. There will be a little loss of pressure over time... just like on a tire. But it should definitely not be noticeable over a few day period.
