Under Steering
Morning Guys!
So a little about my truck first. Its a 77 C10 1/2 ton. I have 3 inch drop springs up front and Shackles and hangers in the rear. Have a 1 1/4 front sway bar and a Belltech 1 1/8 rear sway and shock extension in the rear. No other suspension mods at all. So yesterday when I was testing the truck out on some canyon roads and I noticed the truck was heavily under steering towards the other lane. I do know that since the majority of the weight is on the front head the truck will tend to push alot but this time seemed excessive. But since I am running stock length shocks up front with the 3 inch drop springs, will that affect the handling on the truck? The way I'm thinking is that the front suspension is not transfering the weight correctly causing the truck to understeer even more than usual. Am I on the right track with this mindset? Within the next few weeks I plan on installing some lowering shocks (belltech street performance) to fix some of the problem but was just wondering if the shock length would cause this. Thank you in advance. |
