Stock Height or Keep it lowered... Your thoughts

Hey everybody I have a 1972 Chevy C20 Longbed and was used for hauling and dumping , bought this truck 5 years ago and slowly improved on it . Painting , upholstery,Rebuilt engine, seals , Etc.. Its A couple months ago I decided to sell it to fund my bagged 1972 C10 Longbed , A lot of trucks around here are lowered than lifted . so I decided to drop it 3in in the front and 5in in the back with Drop springs and shocks . ever sense it was done I wasn't happy with it. I would also need a C-notch to even make the bed usable again and I don't want spend any more money in it that Iam not getting back. I also kept the stock springs just in case.. I'am thinking of going back to stock height.. your thoughts

if your gonna sell it raise it back up, i think it will look better with those tire and rims
plus probably sell faster..........just my 2 cents

I vote for go back to stock. If you keep it lowered, I'd definitely say some tires with much less profile.

By the way is that Chevy 514 red that it's painted with?

I know lowered trucks are cool, but useable trumps cool in my opinion every time.

If you drop a truck it should be a 1/2 ton. I feel 3/4 ton trucks should be kept as useable trucks.

Raise it back up, and the tires look just right.

Back up especially if you work it, I have an 85 4x4 I going through the same thoughts about removing them lift.

Wow those are the biggest tires I have ever seen on a lowered truck! If you put proper size rubber on there, it would lower the truck another 2 inches at least! I say keep it lowered but those 4x4 tires need to go. If you dont want to spend a lot, get tires from pick n pull. I got my last set of almost new 215/70R15's for $16 each. If you dont care how it looks, and just want a truck, then sure raise it back up and keep those tires on there.

If it is a worker, stock. If it is a 4x4 mud or sand toy, lift. If it is a cruiser and nothing more, drop. Just my .o2.

What size are those tires? Are they the lt245/75/16 that came stock on newer trucks with those wheels? I do remember offset on those wheels gives narrower track that stock wheels. Kind of like the lowered look. Rear coils or leafs?

Keep it lowered, add a set of air bags in the rear if you plan on using it as a truck....that's my plan!

I like them lowered but depends on the person. If you want to haul raise it back up and enjoy it. I think that if you were going to sell it, it would sell faster lowered, they would just put diff rims/tires on it.

Lowering used to be distinctive, but so many trucks are lowered now it has lost its edge in my opinion. I have kept both my 70 GMC SWB and 72 K5 Blazer stock. They look great as they are.

Actually, I don't think anything kills the resale value of these old trucks faster than a notch, a lift, 22s or 44s, IMHO. 10 years after any of this kind of work is done the truck is worth less than it was before the owner started his mods while the relatively stock truck is usually worth more than the owner bought it for. Craigslist is full of stock looking trucks that are gone in a week and modified trucks that are there for 6 months. There are some well done exceptions but generally speaking this is true.

yeah, what he said I do agree with. These trucks regardless appeal to anyone who likes them and being lowered or not if does have a tendency to affect moving time sometimes with mods and changes (though i do like some lowered trucks lol) . If it was mine and I was selling it i'd leave it like it is because (in my opinon) your wasting labor to something you know your going to sell anyhow and focus on your main project
