Pics of my 71 progress

I have been slowly working on my 71 C20 for about 3 years now, and this site has been a life saver! I just wanted a good, old, solid work truck, not a show truck. My goal was to do all the work myself, and on a very small budget. All the rust was cut out, and metal replaced, all the weather seals were replaced, interior was freshened up, bed wood replaced, and I pulled the motor and went through it. I painted it with tractor enamel. I still have the tailgate left to do, as well as new exhaust, and a few other odds and ends. The truck had 79000 miles on it when I got it, and seemed pretty original.

Re: Pics of my 71 progress

Thanks guys. I don't think that I'm putting the molding back on, some was missing, and the rest was pretty beat. I took the first pictures when I brought the truck home. It was April 10 2009. I cant believe that I have had it that long!

Wow! What a transformation! It looks great. I really like your choice of rims. What are they? I like the white and black gauges too. Were the original equipment?

Re: Pics of my 71 progress

I just took the gauge cluster apart, and painted the tin white, the rims are ultra wheels, your basic modular wheel, like outlaw 2s.

Thanks guys, I hate the fact that it sits in the shed for the winter. I made a plate to fix the radio hole, but it still has a din radio in it. It looks a lot better.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
