I like '69 door panels. What years did they make them?

I like my stock '69 door panels, and I've found they may be a bit rare? Most door panels I see are different. Did they only make these in '69, and for certain trim levels, or what?

Re: I like '69 door panels. What years did they make them?

I thought that they only made these on the cst Chevies, and the GMC ones are blank where the bowtie is. Yours are rarer, because of the dark blue interior is only a 69' color. Very similar to the dark red/burgundy of the same year. Yes, though, they are a one year door panel. 70'-71' had woodgrain up top. Trevor

That's cool to hear. I like the dark blue interior. It's almost black, but not quite. It gives good contrast against the light blue paint

I really like the '69 vinyl door panels, too. Some where blank in the center top and I think those may be the late ones...could be wrong. But,Chevys got the bowties and GMCs got...GMC. I hve one of each I'm saving just because they're cool. I had a drk blue arm rest. I'll have to check.

I wasn't quite sure Eric, glad you pointed it out. I see many blank ones when I go yarding, but seen a few GMC ones now that you mentioned it. Trevor

Cool! Also, tell him they he can probably get most of that dirt and grease off with some 409 and a rag, followed by a coat of interior car dash shiner. That's what I did to mine, and they turned out pretty nice

My 69 made in early Dec., 1968, does not have the bowtie. Wish it did.

Re: I like '69 door panels. What years did they make them?

Not sure the rhyme or reason on the blank ones. Maybe GM started off trying to get away with the same panel for both brands. Maybe the brands were intended all along, but dies weren't complete yet. It's been a while since this has been discussed. Could be different plants? Who knows?
