Cost new in 1971

Anyone have an idea on what these cost new? It is a Custom 350/350 with posi. The were no other options like tilt,am/fm, etc. I guessed $3500 to $5000 for insurance purposes.
I have seen sales receipts for trucks but never on a burb.

Re: Cost new in 1971

I've always gotten offers around $5k for mine. Mines very basic. I bet you can find some old brochures somewhere on the net. I've seen them before, but kinda forgotten where.

I have the factory window sticker for my 71 Suburban. The sticker price with an aftermarket rear step bumper was $5000. After all the wheeling and dealing at the end of the 1971 sales season it sold for $4000. I have the story and notes of the purchase from the original owner.

When I got my 70 Burb 4x4 it had the owners manual in it,I was going through it and ran across this it's a copy as I let the original go with the Burb when I sold it It was a plain Jane.

Re: Cost new in 1971

Works out to almost exactly twice as much for this one compared to the plain jane listed before. I was expecting to see my local dealers name on that 72 invoice with their "special deal" pricing!
