New Dash Bezel

I got my new bezel in today and the black paint is cracking and flaking off. I realize I didn’t spend a lot for it but is this what I can expect if I return it for another?

Re: New Dash Bezel

Contact the seller and send it back for refund or replacement. Unacceptable!

Re: New Dash Bezel

am assuming you bought it from an individual? If so, and it wasn't advertised as flaking etc - then might give a try to what z10 mentions. But seller is under no obligation to take it back, unfortunately. But if by "new" you mean from a vendor - then by all means, you should be able to return it for a refund or replacement, your choice.

I should have mentioned bought from a vendor. I'm sure they will take it back but this is actually the very first part I have bought for these trucks and was wondering if this is common.

Got it from Classic Parts. I'm sure they didn't know it was flawed.

Thanks, this is a great site.

Welcome! From Texas..

Yeah, vendors need to know if a part comes in defective. A reliable vendor is glad to recieve feedback and make it right if it's not to specs. This is the only way they'll know what type of quality they are receiving from manufacturers.

Re: New Dash Bezel

First, welcome from Fort Campbell. Rest assured I had also ordered a dash bezel from classic parts. I actually order a lot from them. I have had minor problems like backorders but they have always been accomedating. It sucks to have to go though something like that. I order something and wait at the edge of my seat for it to come and then for it to have to go back I would lose my mind but know that they will make amends. Typically their products are very good. I would be careful with LMC however. I had once placed a huge order and had within 2 years replaced everything I had bought. It rotted, dry rotted or just came apart if it ever worked right.

No way, send it back. You could spray paint an old one yourself better than that.

Scott, ask that question in the paint and body board, they will jump right on it for you.

Re: New Dash Bezel

Was looking at buying mine from MANES. Anyone had any experience with theirs? I'd be quite upset if I got it and it looked like the one in the first post. They are a board vendor so I figure they should be decent or they wouldn't be allowed to sell their stuff here.

That's funny because I had the exact same problem and mine came from Classic Parts too! Must have been a bad batch..

Re: New Dash Bezel

This makes me sad to report, but Counterparts are the only one being produced right now. There was another company making them in the USA, but they could not compete with the Counterpart Taiwaneze knock offs so they were discontinued. WES

Re: New Dash Bezel

I have one made by counterparts also, looked fine when new but the black paint sure comes off easy, need to be careful around it. The one you have is definitely defective, I doubt the next one you get will be bad.

What was the outcome of this? I'm trying to talk my mom into calling them and I'm not really old enough to call them myself...
