OK WTB: 1969 NP205 Shifter

Looking for a NP205 shifter for my 1969 K10.

Here is one that I have had for many years and was saving for "just in case".
The chrome is decent, it does have a couple of "rub" marks where the rubber boot rides. comes with knob and mounting bolt.

Thanks Livrat, I had not thought about a chromed one (more expensive than what I was thinking), but it would look nice in my truck. I currently have a very short shift lever, I assume it is a 73 and up. Is this lever for a 69?

If you don't mind a newer styled stick I have one for the np205 from a
'79 transfer case. Chrome stick only, no knob. Not show, but nice for a daily driver. Pic shows the stick and shift boot but I'm not sure the boot would fit the hole in the transfer hump. $35 shipped for the stick and the boot.

Thanks, but I have one like that now.. I was looking for something specific to the 67-72 trucks. 69 in particular.

Is this for an auto or manual trans? I assume its a manual since you say you want to stay 69 specific. All the ones shown are for automatics, I think I have one for a 4 speed out in the shop and can look tomorrow.

Auto.. So the auto's were the same for all years?

There were no automatic transmissions in 4x4s till 1970, with the introduction of the NP205 transfer case...before that only manual trans with the Rockwell. The transfer case shifters used behind the manual trans have a sharp bend towards the drivers side, actually crossing behind the trans shifter.
Since someone has swapped in an automatic into your truck either of those 2 shifters shown should work, the one Livrat has looks to be a 71-72 version.

Actually this lever is specific to a 1970 only with an AT and difficult to find. the 70 version comes out in the center/rear of the trans hump whereas the 71/72 version come out towards the passenger side.

Blazerman is correct on the 69's only having manual transmissions and the xfer case used was a Rockwell T221. in 1970 they came out with the first AT 4X4 (NP205), they did use two different levers. the one I have shown and one for a manual trans, as Blazerman said it curves off to the left.

Thanks this has really helped (always learning something here).. My trans cover has the hole towards the passenger side. So I would guess that I need a 71/72 version... correct.

Does the 71/72 come with a knob and bolt?

Didn't the 69 blazer have an optional 205 with auto? I thought that was a one year deal. (or 69-70) That had the small thread knob with no pattern on the knob?

I do not believe so. (but I have been wrong before) I have only seen 69's with either a Rockwell 221 or a Dana 20.
The shifter I have came out of a 70 with an AT, it does have the small thread an no shift pattern on the knob, If I remember correctly the pattern was on the glove box

I have a 69 with an auto. Havent looked at it too close since I got it to see if its original but everything else on it seems to be.

no worries, It's good to find out more of what was or wasn't.
Is your 69 a Blazer? There has been some debate that an AT was available in 69 only in Blazers and not a 4X4 pickup.
Is your Transfer case a NP205?

Yes I do still have it but do not wish to sell it, I had it re chromed to swap out the one in my GMC... someday.
