That's sweet. My VFD has a 66 that was in service till a few years ago. Wish I could get me hands on it.

That first one, blue interior in a red truck...wow, one of those crazy color combo's.

Re: Neat FD/Brush K20 on Ebay

It was orginally a blue truck, the FD repainted it. I find it odd it's so rusty. FD's usually keep their trucks immaculate, even in the rust belt. This must have been the "*****" truck that was abused, kept outside, and maybe plowed snow with?

Both are cool trucks. Those things would pull a house off of the foundation! I too like the red/blue.

Where can a guy get a set of those rims....??

Re: Neat FD/Brush K20 on Ebay

The bad part about these brush trucks is all the water spray bars, water line / hoes and tanks that leak water like crazy. If you look the bed floor where that tanks are setting is shot. Some were not bought new and used trucks that had equipment installed ( like the 2nd truck ). It's funny how some where decked out and some were just trucks with hand painted graphics.

Like my truck has very little rust on bed sides but inside of the is a different story. The nice part I first found my truck setting , then was sold in a equipment auction and found it 7 years later on craigslist and drove a 11 hrs round trip to get it.I will start a build thread on my truck I have all the paper work from the Gm dealer to the FD and to the first buyer, I'm still working on getting the pics back in the day when it was in service / action pics ( cool to have ).

Re: Neat FD/Brush K20 on Ebay

I don't know, i'd question that. Even with the water bars, and tanks, its shouldn't be that bad, did they use salt water?
Its either that, or they don't take care of their stuff at all. That poor girl is racked hard.

That bend 70 is a sharp truck!

Re: Neat FD/Brush K20 on Ebay

I am soooo Jealous because my truck was the Caldwell ID Fire Chiefs truck back in 68 with patina red and the original logo on the side. I have ALL of the paperwork and maintenance records for her but she had to be painted because they are still using the same logo!!!
