Lighted rear view mirrors

Found a rear view mirror with a map light similar to this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/130823587738...84.m1423.l2649

The one I bought had cracked glass. Does anyone reproduce just the 12 inch day/night mirror or am I going to have to rob one out of a donor mirror?

Re: Lighted rear view mirrors

Can you have one cut at a glass shop?

Re: Lighted rear view mirrors

I can possibly have one cut, but the original mirror isn't a flat piece, it's wedge shaped.

Re: Lighted rear view mirrors

Here's a post that talks about replacing the glass in your mirror:

As I explained there, the original glass is prismatic (the wedge shape you referred to) which allows it to reflect almost all of the light or only a portion of it. Glass shops can cut the pattern, but they can't make the prismatic glass.

Thanks, maybe that's what I'll do and not miss the prismatic original.
