Truck buying advice
Ok what would most of you pay for a regular cab 85 k30 dually 454 factory air has been removed. New headers and exhaust 6 new tires very nice flatbed. Its an automatic and owner says it has 456 gears. Warn lock outs everything underneath is oil free as well as under the hood. There some engine mods nothing major. It runs great but needs a dash pad and rockers and cab corners and it's primer gray.
I wish I has a picture but I didn't have my phone with me when I stopped to look at it. It's an Ohio truck but the frame is relatively clean and looks recently painted. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Truck buying advice
Look up the NADA value and go from there. I don't believe KBB goes back that far.

Re: Truck buying advice
Needs paint, body work, and interior work..Thats a $800-1000 truck in my area. Location has alot to do with pricing. (example) I bought a nice 91 suburban 3/4 ton with mags wheels, 454/400, power everything. Had a blown head gasket. Got it for $600 and the guy was thrilled.

Re: Truck buying advice
Well the sellers brother said the 3k asking price is too high in his opinion. I know body work is body work but the beds a flatbed that's in great shape so the cab corners and rockers are it. A dash and a few things to clean up inside and a paint job it could add up to 1000 bucks quickly. Around here the crappiest of 4x4 square body duallys go for 1500. 2wd ones 1k. A older full restoration on 5k. The Dana 60 front axle 1k all day long. A Dana 70 rear same price.
I was gonna start at 1500 that's half his offering price plus it's been there for 9+ months maybe a full year. Larry Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Truck buying advice
always get it cheap as you can, but if it's the truck you want....after driving & looking at countless trucks, when i seen mine, it was dam the price, no more searching. i know i probably paid to much, but i saved that in fuel & frustration (plus 99% rust free!)

Re: Truck buying advice
1.they are not makin them anymore
2.if you don't see many,(like Jimmys here for me) they are hard to find in any shape 3.the sooner you get it,the sooner you can make it yours 4.if you feel your over paying,i'd mention body work etc, needs checked before your painter will paint it 5.need pics

Re: Truck buying advice
That price is pretty in line with what I see here in Indiana. In our area, the K30 trucks are pretty rare if they are in decent shape. The dually's are even more rare. As said before, they aren't made anymore. If it runs good, and just needs body work, start at $1500. But in all, $3k isn't an out of the ball park price.

Re: Truck buying advice
As mention without pics its hard to say. here in my area of missouri it sounds like a solid 900 upper end but any square around is pretty cheap unless its super nice, super abundant and all mostly farm trucks so easy to pick up. the duelly`s in good shape minor body work.. like maybe a a rocker panel or needs a new bed ive seen go around 2,000 to 2,500
