Is this sandlewood?

When i got these i thought they where parchment but after cleaning them up and looking at pictures I think they are a shade to darker. I didnt know sandlewood was a color until i started looking. They came out of a 70.

Re: Is this sandlewood?

I scrubed them with blue magic upholstery cleaner and then pressure washed them. I was afraid it would be to harsh but it worked great.

Re: Is this sandlewood?

You pose a great question. For some reason I had in the back of my mind that parchment wasn't an option until 71 and that sandalwood preceded it. So, if out of a 70, I'd bet sandalwood.

Having said that - I am NOT sure of this - I'm interested to see a definitive answer from someone who knows.

Re: Is this sandlewood?

Looks just like the 624 gold/sandalwood to me from '70. Would also be used with the 622,623 & 625 trim codes. Here is a 625 GMC interior as well.

Re: Is this sandlewood?

"Sandlewood" is incense & "Parchment" is paper...Pie-r-round & Cornbread-r-square! Damn hippies...Hey them belts and visors look graet tho!

Re: Is this sandlewood?

Nice color interior. The belts look great. The belts are heavy Nylon so I guess they are pressure washer safe too.

Re: Is this sandlewood?

That looks like Parchment or maybe gold to me. It's not pure white. It's a off-white just like the paper. Sandalwood is the color the dash pad and steering wheel would be with a Parchment interior. Sandalwood is unmistakably tan and never offered in an upholstery color. There was a color of upholstery called Gold that was a shade darker that Parchment, lighter than Sandalwood, and nothing like what I consider Gold (or the real gold upholstery, such as in 50th Anniversay trucks) .
