Re: Fan Motor ?
I think you can but you have to move the hinge forward. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Fan Motor ?
Thanks, I have a good spare but it's cold and I don't want to screw around with the hood right now! It looks like you could squeeze it out around the hinge ?

Re: Fan Motor ?
I haven't had any luck doing that. I always wind up removing the hinge. WES

Re: Fan Motor ?
Use a pencil to outline around the hood hinge bracket if you have to remove it. I've had good luck reinstalling it by doing that.

Re: Fan Motor ?
You can drop the inner fender down and get it out too. Don't have to touch the hinge that way.

Re: Fan Motor ?
I just did this a few weeks ago. Search my old posts. It isn't that hard, but yeah- you need to remove the bottom screws from the hinge. Having removed my inner fender before, I think the hinge I easier.

Re: Fan Motor ?
I think I will try to drop inner fender, my helper "wife" hurt her arm so removing the hinge is out of question right now

Re: Fan Motor ?
Would it be easy to remove the whole box assembly under the hood and have the blower motor slide out with it? You would prob have to pull the blower motor out a little so the cage doesn't get caught on the cab. When I removed my blower motor I never had to remove anything... I wonder if my blower was an aftermarket could possibly be a smaller? Who knows.

Re: Fan Motor ?
The fan is mounted to the heater core assembly on the engine side of the firewall, interior assembly is the air distribution part of the system. I am going to remove the entire engine side housing to check for debris like leaves and stuff and also replace the stock heater core while I have it all apart. Would also like to replace the aftermarket heater hoses and cheep POS clamps that are on it now! Does anyone know where to get GM script hoses and original type tower clamps ?......Thanks for the input guys
