So what's this 67 worth?

I've been lurking on the site looking for a project that's a driver I can enjoy on the weekends but still needs a little work to satisfy my need to wrench on something. So I going to look at this '67 small back window in the morning. It supposedly had a frame off 10 years ago and has a rebuilt 350 and rebuilt TH350 with 3k miles on them.

Guy is asking $10k. Any thoughts?

Looks good from here for the money. Offer $8,500,if you have it to hold, and see what happens. That's a sharp looking truck for the coin, these days, for a $10k turnkey. Hey,what's that sticking outta the hood?

And welcome to the site!

Re: So what's this 67 worth?

Thanks! That was my thoughts too. Actually was thinking about starting at $8K and go from there. As long as his description to me was truthful..... No rust, all suspension parts replaced, motor, trans, etc.

Re: So what's this 67 worth?

Just make sure to take a good look at the frame to see if it is a true short bed.

Re: So what's this 67 worth?

When I first saw the post I did not want to comment because I did not want to seem out of line but I was also thinking around $8500. He knows he will have to drop the price a little to sell it so set it high at $10k and have room to come down.

Re: So what's this 67 worth?

I picked it up for $7500.

The good:
1. Truck was frame offed a decade ago so all the major issues have been fixed like rockers, cab corners, rear fender wells, etc.
2. Came with a folder jammed full of receipts totaling more than $15k in parts.
3. The interior is decent, not how quality, but its livable while I work on other stuff.
4. The bed was redone with new oak, new strips, shaved tailgate and stake pockets and an embossed chevy bow tie in the front bed panel.
5. Bushings, bearings and body mounts were all replaced
6. It seems to be reliable and runs down the road well. My crazy ass drove this truck 700 miles from Virginia to Florida after buying it Friday afternoon.

The bad:
1. The carbs are badly out of tune, it has a tunnel ram manifold which is most likely going to have to go. PO gave me another single carb Holley manifold and air cleaner, but that means I need to do something with hood. I kinda like the old school look of the tunnel ram, but I want this thing to be reliable. My wife wants to be able to drive it every now and again.
2. The wiring needs gone thru, lost fuel pressure while driving it due to a bad toggle switch in the dash, I trust nothing now.
3. Needs a proper lowering kit. Looks like rear springs were heated.
4. It has a cheesy sunroof. This is probably the most disappointing aspect of the truck. I am not sure if I will try to replace it with a better looking one or consider replacing the roof skin.
5. Still has 6-lugs, needs power booster, front disc, 5-lug upgrade.

Overall I think I have a solid truck to start with that I can drive and enjoy as I build it up the way I want it.

Re: So what's this 67 worth?

I looked at all the pictures before I read anything, and at that time I thought $8,000 would be a good starting point for price. At $7,500 I think you did pretty good. Mechanical, wiring, etc you can work through over time.

IMO if you are looking at replacing the tunnel ram buy a used 67/68 hood, and when you have that painted have the roof fixed at the same time. You can put a headliner in the interior to help make that a little more cost effective. Your truck won't be down for very long as they can prep the hood on their own time, and then you take the truck in and they take care of the roof and put the paint on the roof and hood.
