Paint code?
Can anyone identify the paint codes on this truck? This was my fathers truck that I drove while in high school. It was totaled due to a Saturn running a stop sign. I know in the pics the roof may look white, but it was actually a lighter green. I have not seen many trucks with this color scheme. Thanks from a newbie.

Re: Paint code?
I do believe the main body color to be medium olive metallic, but I do not know the code for the lighter green that is on the upper portion of the cab. I no longer have the truck, as the accident happened over 10 years ago. I wish I would have recorded the numbers while the truck was in my possession.

Re: Paint code?
Something I would like to see is the SPID on the glovebox door. While the body is the 504 Med. Olive Green. The roof however is the problem. The only production Two-Tones would be a 521 White or 506 Dark Olive Green roof over a 504 Med. Olive Green body. The color you are calling light green may in fact be the 525 yellow. The color looks a light yellow green color and easily tips. If it were these colors then it is probably a "special paint" truck or a spring trim package I am unaware of as it was a 70 spring late release color. Here are some samples for you and Ditzler paint codes.

Re: Paint code?
The color on the Blazer in the bottom pic is what I'm looking for. Thank you guys very, very much. I'm on the hunt for another '70 c10, and eventually hope to own one soon. The truck in my original post has a lot of great memories of my father, and I'd love to build one in his memory.

Re: Paint code?
One more question, then I'll quit buggin y'all for a while. Is this color combination odd/rare? I've only seen one other truck online with this color combo. It was an original survivor truck that was for sale on craigslist.

Re: Paint code?
OK, I missed it the first three times through! The code is a factory combination, code 574 for late 70-72. It is 525 over 504. These colors were not always popular. The Two-Tones with a color other than white are not seen too often. If you find one great. If you are going to wait for one to come up for sale it may be a very long time. The best bet would be to find a nice 504 Med. Olive truck you like and paint the roof the 525 yellow.

Re: Paint code?
That is great info! Thanks again. I'm not holding my breath on finding one with that color combo, but when it's said and done, it may be wearing it. lol
The hugger orange/white has always been a favorite of mine too. |

Re: Paint code?
that's funny, I didn't even notice, I just thought it was moldy/mossy faded white...
EDIT: In other words, I should have written what you wrote in post more carefully and not just stared at the pictures. Last edited by jocko; 01-27-2013 at 03:47 AM. |

Re: Paint code?
Jocko since you like both colors you could always paint yours yellow on top. :-)
