help with driveshaft length for 6.0 4l80 build

Building my 72 with a 6.0 and 4l80 and need a driveshaft about 62" long. Is there any posts/threads with driveshaft lengths?
My Saginaw yoke doesnt' fit the new 4l80 tailshaft so I need a yoke also .
This truck has a 76mm turbo and expected output over 650 horse. Any help would be appreciated.

It would be misleading to tell you how long the d/s should be for your truck, even if someone has the same configuration - every truck is a little different due to suspension age/sag, etc etc. The only way to do it right is to put the truck on the ground and measure from the trans rear face (as in, from the vertical rear face, where the d/s yoke inserts) to the center of the pinion yoke (or, to whatever measuring points the d/s shop says to measure to) and then take your d/s to them to have it shortened or to have them build you a new one (if it needs to be lengthened - or if you need a higher performance one, for example). Usually, that is all there is to it - tell them the trans o/p shaft spline count and what type it is, and then pick it up in a few days - the whole, assembled piece. Most driveline shops have online forms to fill out, or, at the very least, directions on exactly how to measure. But make sure to have the truck on it's tires under it's own weight - if on jack stands and the suspension is unsprung, you'll have a false (and too long) measurement.

Exactly what jocko said! I build driveshafts for a living. You have to measure your truck.
Any properly built one piece will handle that power no problem. 3.5"x.065" tubing would be the lightest duty stuff they could use, 2"x.120" can handle those kinds of numbers with holes drilled in the yokes.

If you're just wanting a list of cars and their driveshaft lengths so you can find one out of a junkyard more power to you, some guys have listed some mid 70s caprices as being the correct lenght for whatever they built. That was an era when gm "overballanced" their shafts. The took a way not straight piece of tubing then put huge weights to pull the shaft straight at high speeds. Either considered really cool or just a way to use crappy tubing. Good luck finding anything useable in a junk yard, the forklift guy usually trashes the driveshaft first thing. If you put any value on your time you'll come out ahead just buying a new one exactly what you need vs buying junk and having it shortened and rebuilt.
