This is when we went and looked at the truck and asked if they would take payments? the guy had to ask his brother.(That was the owner) After a sleepless nite my son got the call that they would let him make payments for it...

this is a pic of it after a new carb, fuel pump and oil/filter change.(it hasnt ran in a few years ) After we got it running and teachin him how to smoke the tires, We removed all of the trim, emblems and welded up all of the holes and spot primed the work.

This is him welding up the holes on the tailgate. He wants to get a new gate in the future that is plain and relocate the latch to the inside...He is hoping to get a job this summer to buy parts for his truck like power steering/brakes,lowering kit rims tires, cowl hood, replace some of the rusted panels, and have the truck all in primer..Think he will have it legal and drive it to school next year (his jr year) We are so proud of him, he just got his Eagle Scout and has earned all of the moneys to buy and work on his truck. So nice to be apart of this with him.

WAY COOL! reminds me of myself and my Dad when he bought me my first vehicle... a 1968 Chevrolet C10 3 on the tree 250 straight 6. I was smiling just as big as your son is in his pic. Good job!

Re: This is my sons first truck..

Awesome! I missed getting a '70 short-fleet when I was about 19...and now, 26 years later, I'm finally getting around to owning one (a '72 LWB).

It's great to see the next generation working on these great trucks! Good luck with the truck...have fun with it!

Very cool. Good young man to be interested in these old trucks! And good dad, of course.

Curious how custom you plan to go with the semi-rare anniversry truck you have there? Noted you all welded up the chevrolet hood letter holes, that's the only reason I was asking. What are your paint plans? Gonna retain the white/gold motif or go custom? Good luck on your father/son build, I think it's a great thing. Here's some motivation.... (can you tell where my vote goes, i.e. original ) Pic #2 is a member's truck - some of the others might be also. Saw an absolutely beautiful one at last year's LA Roadster Show (pics 4 & 5). Personally, I'd LOVE to have the anniversary k10 swb (pic #3). Oh my.
