Door will not close after installing new latch

On my 68 c10 the inner and outer door locks would not work properly. So I installed new door latches. Now, the drivers door will not shut. The new latch is catching on the inner door striker plate??? not sure if that is correct term. Any help to get door to close is appreciated.

Re: Door will not close after installing new latch

Does the striker plate have any shims behind it that can be removed? Other than shim removal can the door be adjusted forward any?

Re: Door will not close after installing new latch

I know a lot of time when adjusting doors on a post type latch sysyem[that we don't have] if you move the stirker in to far because the door seems to need to go in more and then won't latch, the answer will lie in moving the post to the outboard side aginst all reason that your brian will muster. So judging from that info I would say that maybe try moving the plate to the outside a little bit and see what happens next
