M22W from four gear trans?

Is anybody running a trans build by four gear trans? Im looking at buying one of their M22W street/race version for my 71' turbo LSX. It Will be in the 600rwhp range. Just want to see if i can get any feedback on them before pulling the trigger? I think he makes his own gears instead of using the Italian gears? Is this correct?

I cant give much "feedback" on the trans you are looking at, but will say that the biggest trouble with a Muncie trans are the ratios! Your close ratio trans is a 2.20 1st, while that does work with a 4.56 gear on the track, I would opt for a TKO 600 trans, go 3.42- 3.73 on the rear gear & take advantage of that lower 1st gear.....as well as the overdrive gear The spread on the gears will be wider.....but my bet is overall driveability will be better? just my thoughts....best of fun, crazyL

Thanks for the info. the Muncie i was looking at has a 2.56 1st gear, im running 3.73's. Any idea where I can find pricing on a TKO 600 that would be rated for 800hp?

Re: M22W from four gear trans?

I need to do some checking while mine is out and see just what my 1st gear ratio is. The first time I drove it I thought "man...these 3.73's aren't bad at all". Then I shifted 3 more times in about 50 feet and realize that she sure is a close ratio trans with a tall 1st.
