Power Steering Hose Issue - Please Help If You Can
I put a power steering setup on my truck 18 years ago when I was 12. It has worked great since, until I installed a tilt steering column and unknowingly pushed the pressure side hose into the header tube. Well about 15 miles latter and a lot of smoke...no more power steering. Now I need a new hose.
My problem is I have know idea what vehicle my pump and box came off of. I got it from a neighbor farmer who just had it laying around his shop. He gave it to me, it fit, it worked and I haven't thought to much about it again until now. Here are some pictures...can anyone help me know what hose I need?

Could take what's left of the original hose with you to the store and match it up.

It looks just like mine. The best thing is take the hose loose and start at the 71 year. Check both ends of the new hose and make sure they match your old one. Shouldn't be to hard to find.

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |

You can also take to a place that makes hydraulic hoses for heavy equipment and such and have them make one for you.We have quite a few of them around Orl and it is sometimes cheaper to have it made.

If you have a hydrahose place or similar, as in a Tractor Repair Center, take the old hose in it's entirety to them and they can make you a new one on the spot. That is what I did to mate a remote reservoir, my LT-1 pump, and the steering sector.

Re: Power Steering Hose Issue - Please Help If You Can
Well I won't be able to just match what I have. The metal portion that connects to the box is all sorts of messed up. When I made it work way back when I kinked it in a couple places just to make it fit.
I am going to take some measurements. Maybe use a wire to bend and figure out how I want the new one made up. How much slack is needed in the line for engine movement? Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Power Steering Hose Issue - Please Help If You Can
3 bits of information that will help you/us:
Small block or big block? Are the threads/fittings for pump & steering box standard or metric? Is the pressure port on the pump male or female? |
