Re: picture request please
I had a 61 c-10 years ago that was lowered with 6 inch drop springs in the back. To change the tires I had to carry a bumper jack. That would raise the rear enough to remove and replace the tire if needed on the road.
should work ok. Just look for one that will work with your bumper shape.

My old truck had a 12 bolt for an 84 suburban swapped in, which is about .75 inches wider per side than stock, if my memory serves... I could unbolt the wheel on mine but could not clear the drum without raising the body with the bumper jack. And I was only running stock 84 chevy c-10 wheels, 5.5 or 6 inch wide max. You'll just have to try it out when you get to that point.

I've seen our trucks with those narrow rallies on the rear and wider ones on the front--talk about weird--but non-motor-guys might not notice? Luck to you, and here's hoping space-saver spares can be avoided! sam |

Re: picture request please
I thought I was the only one that kept his 65 c10 next to his dirt late model.

Re: picture request please
That looks like the perfect height to me if the stuff in your bed is making it lower I would remove the stuff and lower the truck to make it the height that it is a now. My step side has a 5 inch drop and my tires are 275R/60R17s. You don't need to put the jack under the bumper just put it under the frame on the side that you want to remove the tire. I think that will give you more room.

Re: picture request please
Yep. Jack frame in front of tire. Or I cheat and air rear bags up. I got a low profile Jack from Harbor. Freight. With race car around there has to be a lower, lighter version.

Re: picture request please
thanks for all the input guys i guess i just wasnt expecting a 5 in drop to be so low lol now the front is setting an inch higher according to the body line so im going to just cut a half a coil off of my new 3 inch drop springs and let er ride

Re: picture request please
ok i got the rear lowering done and did one into a problem besides none of the bolt wanted to move i ordered a trac rod from jegs for a 65 c10 i went to put it on today it was 4 inches to short so i called them and they got ahold of mcgaughny and they said i have a 64 rearend in a 65 truck and they was 4 inches longer in 64 so needless to say i just cut and welded to make it work and they gave me a $15 gift certificate for my hassle also the tires come off alright by jacking up on the frame i will post some pics in a couple weeks when i can get it out of garage i still have to cut a half a coil off of my 3 in lowering coils to even ot out all around

Re: picture request please
That stance looks good to me, wouldn't change a thing if it were mine.

Re: picture request please
When you do the drop spindles are you going to add disc brakes?

Re: picture request please
fwiw, going with a lowering shock helps with this...sometimes on a 5inch drop you'll be running the shocks mostly compressed, making them less effective (handling suffers) and less comfortable.
