Need help identifying this part
Please look at this picture below and tell me what is wrong. I am sure that I need to put this part back on the bolts, but I can't get the bolts to thread. I am so clueless any advice would be useful. It seems that the bolts aren't long enough to tap into the cuff part. Is there a piece missing, or should I go to the hardware store and search for longer bolts?

Sorry photo is upside down. I could not get my mac to rotate the image.

Any help would be appreciated.

That is the drive shaft carrier bearing. The bolts won't "tread into" the part. I believe you will need the proper size nuts to go on the bolts once that carrier is seated on the bracket.

It looks as if the top plate with the threads has separated from the carrier bearing, (Originally it was spot welded together), its either weld it back together or time to get a new carrier bearing

Right side up...

It looks fairly new. If so I would just take the drive shaft out and weld it back together. Just wrap a wet rag around the rubber area when you weld it.

It seems I may have to replace carrier bearing, as I can't find the separated piece.

It looks like the separated piece is still there in the picture, you may just have to unscrew the two bolts and it will fall off

like Livrat and others stated the thread plate came apart from the carrier bearing housing. Your best bet is to just buy another one.

.. Yup, that's what it looks like to me too. I think I would drill some holes in the flat piece, clamp it and the bottom piece together and weld the holes up

Problem with buying a new one is it will probably do the same thing. I always re-weld the new ones like I stated above before I install them.
