Wiper Blade Questions

I am in need of new wiper blades for my 67.

Currently I have what I believe is one original blade and one vintage replacement. Both look almost identical (minor differences), both have the same patent number, one is labeled Trico.

My question is, do these wear out? Should I be looking for replacement blades that maybe have more spring to them or something? I have looked an so far seen replacement that claim to be silver colored (no mention of stainless or chrome), but maybe some of the Repro companies make them?

Otherwise if they don't wear, I would probably look to just put refills in.

Thoughts?

Not sure you can get anything other than a trico. Almost all parts stores will carry our stock replacement blades

I just bought some Trico's last weekend from O'reillys and they fit perfect and look good.

Re: Wiper Blade Questions

Thanks for the info and links (I had trouble getting he links to work but eventually did).

Here is what I came up with so far:

http://www.tricoproducts.com/Drivers...oducts/Classic

Seems like these might be the way to go, OEM company and they look exactly like the originals. I just wonder about the "silver" finish and if it is chrome or stainless or how it looks in person.

I still haven't hit any of the Repro companies to see what they have.

Anyone have experience with the Trico Classics or any others that are close to/same as OEM?

Link doesn't work for me. All I end up seeing is a bunch of different companies. Can you fix it?

Those are the Trico Classics I mentioned above. Can you tell me more about them-- are they stainless or aluminum or just painted silver? How do they look and work?

Thanks!

Stainless, nice looking, comes with rubber insert. These are a nice alternative to the original equipment that may be missing or damaged. Also, the ANCO refill part number U15R is the correct refill blade for these as well as the original equipment blade.

If you do a search on the forum, you'll find quite a few threads that all lead to the Anco U15 refill

Re: Wiper Blade Questions

Thank you guys for the refill info, I had known about that. I really wanted info on the entire blade.

It sounds like the Trico Classics are the way to go, and my local O'Reilly has them for about $8.50 a piece. Going to go pick them up.
