Crazier swaps have been done successfully. Sounds like you got the background to pull it off without a hitch. Looking forward to seeing it.

Re: 72 cab swap to 90 suburban 4x4 frame
I saw a 70 GMC long bed on ebay a while ago that had this swap. The truck looked great afterwards. If I remember right, all he had left to do was cut the rear frame rails. The guy was in Arizona. I remember asking him what size tires he had on it because it sat just right imo. He had Ford steel rims and I can't remember what tire size it was. But it was cool. I will watch this one too as I have a C20 too. Good luck w/it.

Nice, also planning a body swap to a newer frame, nice to know that the suburban looks to be close. Looking forward to updates.

If the pic is saved on your computer, you can go to the manage attachments tab below and find/select it from the correct folder on your computer.

Re: 72 cab swap to 90 suburban 4x4 frame
just about got her all done . only been working on it a little bit on the weekends so i dont get burned out , all I got left to do is move my fuel tank forward because the suburban frame is a little long , so i need to move the gas tank forward and cut the frame remount the bumper.or those fuel lines under a lot of pressure . if i cut them and shorten them can i put back together with rubber fuel line, and i am also waiting for my wiring harness for the tbi.will the harness have the connectors for the 700r4 trany . well here some more pic

Quote:
1. Did the cab and front end mount to factory cab mounts on the frame. 2. Whay body mounts do you need. And did you have to use a body lift as well 3. How far off are the wheelbases? Thanks in advance! |
