Voltmeter Gauge
Hey guys, I did the big three upgrade today, even added an extra cable from the neg. to the radiator core. The gauge shows a definete drop when all the acc. are on especially the fan (high). My question is does the gauge have a seperate ground or is there a place I can tap into and add another ground? Maybe that will help. Any suggestions? 87 Thanks Guys

Re: Voltmeter Gauge
heavy gauge grounding wires. 1, bat neg. to chasis , 2 motor to cab. And
bat. pos to alt. Got from gm***************. Helps with audio add ons as well as headlights. Wire should be 6 gauge or heavier. |

Re: Voltmeter Gauge
Ahh... Never heard it had a 'name'.
Upgrading the ground circuit was always a must do on any new truck in my possession. I actually just finished up this mod on my dually that's under the knife. I went even farther on this one than I typically do just because of the computer: 1ga POS from batt to starter 1ga NEG batt to frame 2ga NEG ground from cab to the same stud as the batt to frame 2ga NEG ground from the engine block to the frame 2ga NEG ground from the core support to the same stud as the engine block to frame I feel warm & fuzzy about the ground loop .
